June 23, 2008 : This Is An Intriguing Development

So Kung Fu Panda looked like a pretty good movie during its initial advertisement push; and as it kept moving along, it looked better and better – particularly when critics (both from a film and animation standpoint) were speaking very highly of it.  Now that it has been a few weeks since it’s release, it continues to pick up steam (and praise).  With all this buzz, it certainly is making me very curious to see how it is.

Kung Fu Panda

I must say that I have not been the biggest fan of Dreamworks Animation – not to say I didn’t find it good, it just never caught my interest.  A perfect example is Shrek.  The franchise has been incredibly successful, and it looks well done; but the story never interested me.  In fact, it wasn’t until recently that I saw the first movie (and I have yet to see either of the sequels).

With that said, Kung Fu Panda looked pretty sweet.  It has a cool cast, and the animation is supposed to be very, very well done.  With all the buzz surrounding it, this might be something I will check out sooner than later (and probably much sooner than I plan on watching Wall-E).

As a side note, the caption at the top of the above movie poster is pretty funny.
